April 2016 Meeting

We will meet at the apiary of Mary Jo and Erik Lenzing in Pine Grove Mills this month. We hope to split a colony and maybe do a mite count on one of the hives. Come out and meet some Centre County Beekeepers.

Directions:

Using Google maps will get you to the drive way but the house number is not out on the street. They share a gravel drive way with two other houses.

From State College:

• Take PA-26 S/W College Ave - Continue to follow PA-26 S into Pine Grove Mills
• Turn left onto Mc Alevys Fort Rd/S Water St (at blinking light)
• Turn right onto West Chestnut St

From South of Warriors Mark (Altoona, Tyrone):

• From Route 99 - get off at Tyrone, Turn right onto PA-453 S
• Keep left to continue on PA-550 N - 5.8 mi
• Turn right onto PA-350 S - 4.3 mi
• Turn left onto PA-45 E - 11.8 mi
• Turn right onto Mc Alevys Fort Rd/S Water St - 0.2 mi (Rt 26)
• Turn right onto West Chestnut St

From Bellefonte (or North):

• From I-99 S/US-220 S, take exit 73 to merge onto US-322 E toward State College/Lewistown - 3.9 mi
• Take the exit toward Pennsylvania 45 W/Oak Hall/Boalsburg - 0.3 mi
• Turn right onto Boalsburg Pike (signs for U.S. 322 Business/Pennsylvania 45 W/Boalsburg) - 299 ft
• Continue onto US-322 BYP - 381 ft
• Continue onto T958/Warner Blvd - Continue to follow Warner Blvd - 0.8 mi
• Continue onto PA-45 W/Shingletown Rd - Continue to follow PA-45 W - 3.9 mi
• Turn left onto Pine Grove Rd - 1.3 mi
• Turn left onto Mc Alevys Fort Rd/S Water St - 0.2 mi (Rt 26)
• Turn right onto W Chestnut St

***Destination - After turning onto West Chestnut Street, you'll see a fire hydrant on the right. Turn right onto the gravel driveway. follow all the way back to the green/tan house.

Parking:
It may be better to park on West Chestnut Street or along the street that forks off to the left (before the driveway).
If you park in front of the small white log cabin on West Chestnut street, you can walk along their driveway and thru their yard into Lenzing's yard.
