May 2016 Meeting

We will meet this month at the apiary of Dan Pytel near Unionville. Dan would like to raise some queens this year and we hope to complete the first step in setting up for the Cloake Board method of queen rearing. We hope that all members — even those just starting out — will find this interesting and worthwhile. Of course, we'll allow time at the beginning of the meeting to try to answer some of your other beekeeping questions. We're hoping for cooperative weather, something we haven't experienced much of this spring. Come out and meet some Centre County Beekeepers.

If you'd like to study up prior to the meeting, here's an excellent description of the Cloake Board method of queen-rearing.
