May 2013 Meeting

Meeting Date: Saturday, May 18 at 2:00
Location: Sam Gruneberg's Apiary
1026 Benner Pike, State College, PA
Topic:  Doing splits, queens and swarming

Thanks to Sam Gruneberg for once again offering up his Benner Pike apiary for this meeting. With any luck, the weather will be agreeable this time and we’ll get a chance to look through one or two of Sam’s colonies.

  • New business
  • Next meeting
  • Outreach and speaking opportunities
  • Main topic of discussion (as outlined above)
  • Open discussion, question and answer session on topics raised by participants
  • Hive inspection

We plan to meet outside at Sam's apiary, so please bring a lawn chair. A veil and any other protective gear you prefer would also be a good idea. If the weather is questionable, check your email.

If you have anything to add to the agenda, please let us know. If you know of any beekeepers who might be interested in joining the Centre County Beekeepers, please encourage them to contact us. The best way to reach us is by email at centrecountybeekeepers@gmail.com.

The meeting is open to all beekeepers and anyone who wants to learn more about beekeeping.
